Resident Advisor for supporting Sub-K to build and strengthen agent network for delivering mobile financial services esp. Savings to unbanked people. It also includes conducting Market Research, designing new financial products esp. G2P payments, Credit and Remittances, pilot testing and helping Sub-K to establish relationships with Commercial Banks and MNOs. Sub-K offers a mobile technology based transactional platform for enhancing access of financial services in rural areas.
Co-lead for a national initiative in Ethiopia to digitize at scale agricultural input vouchers for more than 4 million small-hold farmers using a combination of online and offline branchless distribution strategies and platforms. This included providing technical support to partners involved in rolling out a secured voucher system (to electronize the current manual system) for agricultural input and credit reconciliation.
Worked with the UNCDF’s MM4P initiative to move Nepal from the early start-up phase firmly into the expansion phase. Worked with Ncell as lead consultant to develop options related to branchless banking and mobile financial services. Was responsible for developing the business case for Ncell, including identifying potential partnerships, products, pricing and value proposition, as well as addressing regulatory concerns. In addition, made recommendations that impacted Ncell’s strategy on technology, agent network management strategy, marketing and promotion, and market entry.
