In the year 1999, I institutionalised the ‘Late M N Krishna Pillai Memorial Trophy’ in memory of my father. The topper in B.Sc Chemistry Hons. was given this trophy and it continues till today

I have also conducted innovative research for removal of some priority pollutants from industrial effluents by adsorption on granular activated carbon (GAC) as per USEPA guidelines. I have provided technical assistance and consultancy on Clean Coal technology and environmental pollution to Super Thermal Power plants, Steel plants and various industries. I have published several national and international papers on the subject
